I’ve been thinking about adding this feature for a while, there have been many valued comments voiced over the three years the sites been running. This will allow you to talk about a Shawn Michaels related topic whether it be wrestling or hunting, in more detail than you would in a general comment. If you’re interested in submitting a blog you can do so here, it doesn’t have to be periodic, a one off is fine, but it must have good grammar and spelling otherwise I’m not interested.

Other features include a SAT 2-Stage adjustable trigger and SWA recoil pads with 74% absorption, and is made of all-weather black stock synthetic Twin Cheek Pads for ambidextrous shooting.

JR’s back with yet another blog where he discusses his first hog hunt with Shawn, and Keith Mark that will be televised on MacMillan River Adventures later in the year. The Hall of Fame announcer joined The Heartbreak Kid at his Texan ranch. And for those that follow Michaels, Mark and Ross on Twitter will have seen various images of the “Oklahoma Grilling Machine” JR putting his cooking skills to good use. Below is JR’s detailed recap of the hunt:

I had an amazing time this week going on the first hog hunt of my life with the great Shawn Michaels, @ShawnMichaels, and his hunting partner Keith Mark, @KeithMarkmra, on HBK’s Texas ranch. This hunt will be televised later this year on MacMillan River Adventures which airs on the Outdoor Network.

Arrived at Shawn’s sprawling, Texas ranch after approximately a 6 hour drive on Monday mid afternoon and within a hour or so we were in a deer blind waiting for a pack of hogs to come near us. I was armed with a crossbow which was another first for me.

To show you how fortunate that I was, with my first shot at a live animal I scored the hit that we were looking for and the arrow hit the 300 pound hog right behind the shoulder which is actually where I was aiming. The arrow went through the animal and it and its cohorts ran for the brush and for cover. I did not think that I had hit the animal but we found the bloody arrow which travelled through the hog.

The search by foot began through cactus and mesquite trees until we finally found the animal who had expired. These hogs are of the Russian Boar species and are destructive and non productive on Texas, among other state’s, ranches. The animals are given to the Texas Food Bank for processing and the meat is then provided to needy families. None of the meat goes to waste and if a land owner doesn’t manage these herds of feral hogs the state will come in and do it for the landowners.

As always, HBK and Keith were amazing teachers and guides while Shawn’s family showed me the utmost hospitality. Using Shawn’s hunting lodge as our base camp created a memorable time and provided me with the total hunting experience that I will never forget. I even got some great, hunting gear from @RockyGear including some amazingly comfortable, “snake proof” boots to combat the threat of rattlesnakes which are at home in the area.

A grilling session, of which was also filmed, will be a fun aspect of this upcoming broadcast as well.

It was the most fun that I’ve had in Texas since the last Sooner win over the Steers in the Cotton Bowl.

Now there haven’t been as many as “Great”, but these matches have certainly caused sparks flying. Now probably on of the most controversial championship matches, was featured in this list and is still a much talked subject in modern day wrestling.

The Montreal Screwjob

The extremely heated, personal rivalry between Bret “Hit Man” Hart and Shawn Michaels went beyond a struggle for the WWE Championship. After HBK defeated Hart in a WWE Iron Man Match at WrestleMania XII for the WWE Title, the WWE Universe begged for a rematch. They wouldn’t get one for another year and a half, though, at Survivor Series 1997 in Hart’s home country of Canada. The world got a memorable bout, but for completely different reasons.

With his WWE contract expiring shortly after Survivor Series, Hart holding onto the WWE Title could have put the championship’s future in question. So when HBK, hoping to add a little insult to his potential victory, locked Hart in his own Sharpshooter late in the contest, no one expected Mr. McMahon to come out to ringside and ring the bell, awarding Michaels the title.

The events of that fateful night led to what seemed to be an irreparably broken relationship between Hart and WWE. The “Hit Man” wouldn’t be seen in a WWE ring again until January 2010.

Just catching up on some backlog of WWE.com articles, and in the continued celebration of the WWE Championship WWE look at the 50 greatest title matches. Since the prestigious title’s birth on April 25, 1963 and since then there have been many historic battles. But to pick 50 is a feat in it’s own, especially when you have wrestlers like Buddy Rogers, Bruno Sammartino, Ric Flair, The Undertaker, Stone Cold Steve Austin and the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels. And like most things in his career, this is another list that proves why Shawn Michaels is The Showstopper, The Main Event and The Icon!

#50 Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels: Survivor Series 1997 (Nov. 9, 1997)
At Survivor Series 1997, speculation ran rampant that WWE Champion Bret Hart was preparing to head to Atlanta and join WCW. The sold-out Molson Centre in Montreal was electric as Hart battled Shawn Michaels in what was potentially the final chapter of their bitter rivalry. The course of the battle played out no differently than the struggles between the legendary Superstars in the past. The WWE Universe was on the edge of their seats, wondering, “If Hart wins, does he join WCW as WWE Champion?”

Of course, Mr. McMahon ensured that the WWE Championship did not make it to Atlanta. In an attempt to gain a psychological advantage against the “Hit Man,” HBK locked Hart in his trademark Sharpshooter. As The Excellence of Execution attempted to reverse the hold, Mr. McMahon ordered the referee to call for the bell. Although Hart never submitted, Michaels was awarded the WWE Title in a moment that will forever be known as The Montreal Screwjob.

#41 Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker: Royal Rumble 1998 (Jan. 18, 1998)
A pivotal chapter in the storied rivalry between Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker took place at Royal Rumble 1998. More than a decade before their epic WrestleMania clashes, HBK and The Deadman kept the WWE Universe on the edge of their seats with a Casket Match that changed WWE history.

In the heat of the riveting struggle for HBK’s WWE Title, Michaels suffered an injury that would eventually force him into retirement for four years. As The Showstopper was tossed over the top rope, he landed awkwardly on the edge of the casket and broke his back. He continued to fight, showing the spirit of a champion, but could not seal The Deadman in the casket.

Ultimately, Kane interfered in the contest and chokeslammed his brother into the coffin. After D-Generation X closed the casket to secure HBK’s victory, The Big Red Monster locked The Phenom inside and set the coffin ablaze.

#16 Shawn Michaels vs. Mankind: In Your House (Sept. 22, 1996)
No one really thought Mankind was going to wrestle the WWE Title away from Shawn Michaels at In Your House 10: Mind Games. At least, that was the case until the bell rang and the two Superstars started banging around the ringside area in a fight that would have horrified the bulk of those in attendance had it not been taking place in Philadelphia — the home of Extreme Championship Wrestling, the Broad Street Bullies and that guy who gave the “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” an airplane spin.

Still, broken tables be damned. This match was about so much more than wooden shrapnel. WWE fans walked out of Philly’s CoreStates Center realizing that: a.) Shawn Michaels was tougher than they had given him credit for; and b.) Mankind was a legitimate title contender. Two Superstars redefined by a single match. And they say this isn’t ballet.

#9 John Cena vs. Shawn Michaels: WrestleMania 23 (April 1, 2007)
Shawn Michaels warned WWE Champion John Cena he would take him to the “top of the mountain” in what was HBK’s first WrestleMania WWE Title bout since WrestleMania XIV.

Undeterred by the veteran’s words, Cena overpowered his tag partner until HBK reversed an Attitude Adjustment into a DDT to gain control. After each Superstar reversed the others’ signature moves — Cena blocking a crossbody and Sweet Chin Music and Michaels evading the AA and STF — the two were so exhausted they leaned on one another to stand for the referee’s 10-count.

With a burst of energy, Cena grabbed Michaels into the AA, but HBK slithered from position. Cena quickly snagged his leg, though, forcing The Showstopper into the fateful STF for the most grueling victory of his young career.

#5 1992 Royal Rumble Match (Jan. 19, 1992)
If you don’t understand the greatness of Ric Flair, you’re doing something wrong. But if you still need convincing, watch the 1992 Royal Rumble Match. A visual testament to the style, the resolve and the bottomless gas tank of “The Nature Boy,” the wildly entertaining ruckus saw Flair enter at No. 3 and hang on for dear life for the next 59 minutes and 26 seconds in beautiful pursuit of the WWE Title.

Launching Big Boss Man, Texas Tornado and Sid Justice over the top rope to become the first man to win the WWE Championship in a Royal Rumble Match, Naitch was most definitely the star in Albany, N.Y.’s now rechristened Knickerbocker Arena. Still, partial credit goes to Bobby “The Brain” Heenan who was so good on commentary during this bout that his raw audio should be enshrined in the WWE Hall of Fame.

#1 Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels: WrestleMania XII (March 31, 1996)
At WrestleMania XII, WWE Champion Bret “Hit Man” Hart and Shawn Michaels squared off in an unprecedented 60-Minute Iron Man Match. With both legendary Superstars in the prime of their careers, there was no telling who would emerge victorious. But the WWE Universe could not have imagined that the competitors would go the entire bout without either scoring a pinfall or submission.

When the time limit expired without a winner, an overtime period was ordered to definitively determine the champion. Continuing the back-and-forth struggle into the extra time allotted for the match, Michaels managed to hit Sweet Chin Music to score the victory and realize his boyhood dream of becoming WWE Champion. Certainly one of the greatest WrestleMania matches ever, the grueling contest proved why Hart and HBK were the best of their generation and captured the importance of the WWE Title.

ProWrestling.net reader Cody Young was lucky enough to met “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels at the NRA Convention in Houston, Texas. The site has posted a detailed report from his meeting with the famous Rednecks:

Once I heard Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels were going to be at the NRA Convention in Houston I canceled everything I had planned on Saturday. They both started signing autographs at 2:00 p.m. and we got there around 1:00, then immediately got in line. There were probably about 20 people in front of us but the line grew tremendously as time went on.

Austin was there to promote his new $1,000 scope, which is actually a very good one, and Shawn was there to promote his hunting show. Austin was very nice to everyone and even joked around with my friend and I about our mustaches. I told him how I grew up watching him on TV and how he was one of the guys that made me want to wrestle, and one of the reason why I have a drinking problem. He got a good laugh out of that. He told me I needed to start drinking in moderation otherwise I wouldn’t be wrestling for too long!

After that we rushed to get to Shawn’s booth and surprisingly the line was very short. We were only in line for about five minutes. I told Shawn how I try to emulate his selling in the ring in which he responded, “Oh no don’t do that, you won’t be walking in 10 years!” (ironically enough, I tore my rotator cuff the following night at wrestling training).

I told him a little about Doomsday Wrestling and explained how I couldn’t afford $3,000 for wrestling school. He explained that he paid the same amount back in 1984 and look where that got him! Everyone was really nice to the fans, although Austin’s management tired to rush everyone. He answered every question he could and made every fan feel welcome. I also autographed a Doomsday Wrestling flyer for both of them and they got a huge kick out of that! It was truly an honor to meet both of these legends and I can’t wait to meet them again next year.

After meeting Sheamus at a local event, Scott was lucky enough to meet WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley. Foley was in Birmingham last week for the “Mick Foley Tales From Wrestling’s Past”. Scott being the Shawn Michaels fan he is, asked the legendary hardcore wrestler about his famous “Mind Games” match with the Heartbreak Kid. Below is a detailed recap of Scott’s experience:

Mick Foley Talks HBK/Mind Games

I was so lucky to attend Mick Foley Tales from Wrestling’s Past on Friday night in Birmingham. Mick is very talented man, and a very approachable and likable person.

His stand up routine is really funny. During it he mentions people and tells stories about The Rock, Al Snow, DDP, Steve Austin and Great Khali.

He did mention Shawn, taking the you know what about HBK’s hair in 2002, calling it the page boy.

After the show ended I had meet and greet tickets, and I waited about 20 minutes before it was my turn. I asked Mick how highly he ranked his Mind Games match with HBK, and he said ‘right up there, it was a great match’. Then he said ‘it was never supposed to happen, I didn’t have a feud, and they wanted to keep HBK for Sid at Survivor Series, so we were just kind of thrown together’. I said it was the best match of HBK’s first title run, and he said ‘thank you, I think it has aged well, and he said something about the crowd in Phillie being really into it’. Before I left the table, Mick was signing my belts and pictures, he then said ‘pity I didn’t do more with HBK, when I think of what we could have done, as a tag team that would have been great’. I said something about Dude Love, and he Mick said that he wanted ‘Dude Love and HBK to be tag champions, with Dude like trying to copy and be like HBK’, that would be fantastic.

Mick Foley as a favourite of mine before this show, but man if you get chance please meet the man, he is just fantastic!!!

Many thanks Scott!

I have been busy again, and am now able to inform you all that I have added two new pages to the site. Quotes and Theme Song Lyrics have now been added to the Info section of the site. I have been working hard to find some Shawn Michaels quotes and also add the date & event they were said. Most are undated and if anyone knows more information on these please feel free to let me know. I’ve added both Shawn’s “Sexy Boy” & D-Generation X’s “Break It Down” Lyrics.

Also I just want to inform people that I have fixed our email address, I know some who tried using it were getting there messages bounced back on them. This should be resolved if not, leave a comment and I’ll look into this further.

I hope you enjoy the new content, and be on the look out for further updates as I’m in the process of creating much more new content.
